We are now well into the second half of
camp. The boys who arrived on Monday have now completed a full week and
are well aclimated into camp life. They are busy with their activites
and meeting new friends. The weather has continued to surpirse
us. The beginning of the week was hot, Tuesday morning, the skies
darkened and we could hear the thunder coming closer, the campers
gathered in the barn but despite reports of hail at a camp just 8 miles
away, we had just a brief shower and then we were back to
activities. We had showers off and on the rest of the week with a
downpour on Saturday night. We did have to cancel a baseball game
on Friday afternoon and our Saturday cookouts had to be held in the
barn but other than that, the weather didn't slow us down. The pathways
around camp continue to be wet but today is clear and sunny --
hopefully this will stay for awhile!
There was only one camping trip this week. A group of 13 campers and 4
counselors left Wednesday morning for Baxter State Park to climb Mt.
Katahdin on Thursday -- a perfect day for climbing. To see the pictures

This week, we had a soccer tournament at Agawam, 2 sailing regattas,
both a 15 & under riflery and a 15 & under archery match,
a 12 & under baseball game (the 15& under was cancelled due to
weather) and a sailing match .
On Wednesday evening, "Danny the Barber" came for the first hair cuts
of the summer. Saturday morning was another Capture the Flag game, the
first for the boys who had just arrived.
