The weeks are just flying by here.
This week started with some rain, enough to give us our first really
rainy day
but that has been replaced by some very hot and humid weather so we are
spending lots of time in the water. The Ravens, Cardinals, and Loons
all
went on their camping trips this week. Pictures from their trips can be
seen
here.
Relatives from Little Wohelo came for dinner on Monday night and Big
Wohelo on Wednesday. To see pictures, click

The activities have been very busy this week. Tie-dying was a big
hit in the handicrafts - the boys put on plastic garbage bags before
working with the dye (see the picture below). Clay continued to
be a popular medium and the kiln has been fired several times. As
the weather got hotter, our time in the water increased. Instead
of taking "Friday trips" this week, we played quieter games and then
went swimming. The heat hit us all hard after the cooler damp weather
we had been having. Friday night, the upper bunkline headed to Wohelo
for a dance. They had a great time but it was so hot, I think the
lower bunkline was the lucky ones as they had the chance to go tubing
and swimming. On Sunday, the whole camp went over to Wohelo for a
join celebration of the founders of the camp.
In addition ,we had a 15 & under soccer tournament, two 15 &
under tennis matches, a 12 & under tennis match, 15 & under
basketball, 12 & under soccer, 15 & under archery, 15 &
under volleyball, 13 & under baseball, a cross country meet and our
first sailing regatta.
We were sad to see the first half boys leave but are excited to have
the second half boys arrive today!
