Three trips went out this week.
The Ravens left on Monday for Lake Umbagog, on the Maine/New Hampshire
boarder. They put their canoes in at the southern end of the lake and
canoed to an island where they spent their first night. The
second day, they continued down the lake and found their second
campsite. On Wednesday, they were up early to canoe to the
location where they were meeting the Cardinals. The Ravens then
packed up and headed back to camp while the Cardinals took the canoes
and headed across the lake to spend two nights on the northern end of
the lake. Both cabins had great trips, did a lot of canoeing, swimming
and were able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings even seeing a
bald eagle!
The Loons headed out on Wednesday for the White Mountains were they
spent 2 nights and 3 days. They had to deal with some rain and
although most of it came in the night, it was still overcast on
Thursday when the climbed Mt. Webster so there were no views at the
top. Although the trip is mostly a hiking trip, they had the
chance to go swimming and jump off the rocks into some pretty chilly
water.
