Week Two

(Please be patient, there are lots of pictures this week)

One of the highlights this week was preparing the 4th of July Bonfire.  Everyone gathered wood on Wednesday but unfortunately there was a strong wind that night and the burning of the bonfire had to be postponed. As of today, it is still standing near Beginners Beach.  We have our fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate on Saturday night which is the next possible day to light the fire due to camping trips and other planned events. Other special events were the second "Capture the Flag" game; the Book Fair on Thursday where the boys were able to chose a few new books; the Herons and Crogles camping trips to Pleasant Lake; a sign-up trip for the upper bunk line to Mount Katahdin; "Friday Trips" which included a climb up Rattlesnake Mountain, sailing down Panther Pond,  and canoeing to Hawthorne Point; and on Saturday we hosted the Timanous Swim Relays with5 camps including Wohelo and Arcadia coming to Timanous to compete.  Those events were all in addition to the regular activities! Now that everyone is into the routine, many new activities have been added to the daily schedule including water-skiing, kayaking, the climbing wall, and running.
