Week Two

(Please be patient, there are lots of pictures this week)

This was our first full week at camp!   We started "sign-ups"  Monday morning so the boys now choose their morning activities after breakfast and their afternoon activities after lunch. In addition to the activities they tried during orientation (riflery, archery, sailing, tennis, woodshop, and soccer), kayaking, water-skiing, the climbing wall, basketball, handi-crafts, and kick-ball  were options this week.

Four cabins went on their camping trips.  The Ravens left on Monday for 3 days and 2 nights on Umbagog Lake, canoeing from the southern end of the lake to Molls Rock, stopping each night at a different camp site.  They returned Wednesday and were followed by the Cardinals who also spent 3 days and 2 nights on Umbagog but left from Molls Rock and were picked up at the southern end of the lake.  The Falcons and Loons each spent 3 days and  2 nights hiking and camping in the White Mountains. The Falcons went out on Tuesday and returned on Thursday while the Loons left Thursday and returned on Saturday morning.

Being our first full week, it was a week of "firsts". Tuesday was our first "laundry day" with the dirty laundry going out at lunch and returned clean on Wednesday.  Wednesday night was "Jimmy Buffet", our weekly buffet dinner where the boys can fill their plates and eat outside.  On Thursday, we had our annual "Book Fair" giving the boys have a chance to pick up one or two new books for their summer reading. The Friday afternoon program is usually a little different with the boys going on "Friday Trips" rather than the regular program. This week, our "trips" included a canoe and sailing  trip down Panther Pond, and basketball, soccer and kick-ball games.

In addition, we competed against other camps in 15 & under basketball, 10  & under kickball, 12 & under soccer, 15 & under and 12 & under tennis.  It was a great week!  Although we did have some rain and a few thunderstorms, it came at night and the days were mostly warm and sunny!  Unfortunately, the camping trips saw a little more rain!!
